Morton’s - Mayfair

The brief was to restore this magnificent Georgian building and to create a new high-end international member’s club. The brand brief asked for a unique set of interiors, reflecting the success and taste of its members, whilst also making reference to the club’s illustrious past association with the “Bentley Boys” of the late 1920’s and their 5 straight victories at Le Mans. Through the creative choice of colour, material, texture, lighting and spacial design we created a seamless set of beautiful interiors over 5 floors that reflected the taste and style of the members.

We combined our knowledge of historic building repairs and restoration with our design skills. We faithfully restored the Grade II listed building fabric including re-tuck pointing the front facade and repaired the important internal features such as plasterwork, cornice, marble fireplaces and the magnificent cantilevered stone staircase which spirals through the centre of the building.

We then skilfully combined our new interior designs for the public spaces on 5 floors and our detailed understanding of back of house operations and the complex coordination of deliveries, storage, prep, kitchen design and service to seamlessly meld the new with the old.

The multiple award-winning renovation of Morton's turned the tired grade II listed building into a luxurious and sophisticated members' club incorporating a bar, restaurant, wine room, 3 kitchens, meeting rooms and members' offices. The design was completely bespoke from the colour changing glass light wall and bar to the leather furniture. A major challenge was marrying the historical building fabric with a contemporary interior. This was achieved through innovative use of a traditional palette of materials to achieve a sensitive and refined interior.

“After a lavish refurbishment, Morton’s, the infamous Mayfair members’ club with a rich history dating back decades, means business, and if you’re after one of the most captivating views you can find at a dinner table in London and love nothing more than to be surrounded by world-class art, then you’ll want to join the club”
